Orthodontic treatment can address a wide range of tooth and bite problems. Here are some of the most common issues we treat, along with real patient examples.
Crowding
Crowded teeth occur when there isn’t enough space in the jaw for all the teeth to fit properly. Treatment aligns them and creates a healthier, easier-to-clean smile.
Open Bite
An open bite means the front teeth don’t meet when you close your mouth. This can develop from habits like thumb sucking and often affects speech and chewing. We can correct it with braces, sometimes combined with a specialized appliance.
Deep Overbite
A deep overbite is when the upper front teeth overlap the lower front teeth too much, sometimes causing the lower teeth to bite into the roof of the mouth. Treatment timing matters here: addressing it earlier can often avoid the need for jaw surgery later.
Missing Teeth
When teeth are congenitally missing, orthodontic treatment can move the surrounding teeth into proper position to create space for a restoration, or to close the gap entirely, depending on what works best for your bite.
Underbite
An underbite occurs when the lower jaw extends further forward than the upper jaw, causing the lower teeth to sit in front of the upper teeth. This can affect both appearance and function and responds well to early treatment.
Spacing
Gaps between teeth can result from missing teeth, teeth that are smaller than average, or habits. Braces or aligners can close unwanted spaces and create a more even, balanced smile.
If you see any of these issues in yourself or your child, come in for a consultation. Many of these conditions are much easier to address when caught early.
